THE ARMATURE

ARMS:
The limbs are based on plastic downpipe and perferated play balls (not stolen from a childrens play area!) A triangular vent was cut at one end of lower arm to taper down to a suitable thickness for the wrist and to match up with the hands.
A loop of bungee elastic, was run through from the wrist, under tension to the middle, joining section, out of a hole cut in the middle, one strand going back, through the 'shoulder' ball joint and back again, then tied to the other strand in a double knot and then cable tied.
The hands were attached to a length of heavy duty fencing wire threaded all the way through to the middle incase of bungee cord failure.

Sections of ribbed, vacuum-cleaner hose, slit lengthways, were glued and cable-tied to the top of the forearm and both top and bottom of the upper arm.

LEGS:
The legs are based on the same principle of plastic downpipe and perferated play balls as the arms but will have a 6mm steel bar running through them rather than the bungee cord as they will need to be load bearing.

TORSO:
Sections of plastic pipe were heated with a hot-air gun and slightly flattened in a       vice to create the mounting for the back pipes.
These were then attached to a piece of 18mm ply, with the shoulders by threading cable ties through holes drilled through each.
